3 Minutes, 3 Key Decisions

Trampoline Accessories

Key Decision 1: Trampoline Type

Each type of trampoline is designed to be used in a particular environment such as outdoors, indoors or in the water. And some are even designed for a specific purpose, including childrens trampolines, exercise trampolines and competitive athletic trampolines.

Important : Improper assembly, installation or use of any trampoline can result in serious injury. Be sure to read and follow the manufacturer’s recommended safety guidelines.

Standard Trampoline - Standard trampolines can be classified as either competitive or recreational. Competitive trampolines are sturdier and often subject to competition-specific guidelines. Recreational trampolines are better suited for general family use.

Mini Trampoline – Also known as “rebounders” or “rebounding trampolines”, mini trampolines accommodate one person at a time, provide a lower bounce and are often used for low-impact aerobic exercise or as childrens trampolines. Some mini trampolines fold or feature a handrail for user stability.

Water Trampoline – Water trampolines feature an inflatable frame that enables them to float on the water and provides a fun, convenient platform for jumping and diving. These trampolines can usually accommodate more than one person at a time and are available in a wide range of colors and shapes.

Bouncing Houses – A favorite for kids parties everywhere, bouncing houses feature a small childrens trampoline framed by a whimsically designed inflatable structure. Available in fun themes such as bouncing castles, animals, pirates and forts, some bouncing houses include ball pits, slides and games.

Key Decision 2: Trampoline Shape

A trampoline’s shape helps determine its stability and how high of a bounce it can provide. Most mini trampolines are round to offer a safer, lower bounce while bouncing houses usually feature a rectangle trampoline for a higher bounce that children find entertaining. However, standard trampolines and water trampolines are available in a wider variety of shapes that each offers a unique set of benefits.

Rectangle Trampoline – When you land on a rectangle trampoline, the springs work at different rates to provide a higher, more vertical bounce up. Rectangle trampolines are best suited for water trampolines, gymnastics and other athletics that require a higher-performance trampoline.

Round Trampoline – Round trampolines are highly popular with families because they’re generally considered safer. Their circular shape makes their base more stable and propels occupants towards the center, which makes bouncing out less likely. And, many round trampolines feature a netted trampoline enclosure for additional safety..

Other Shapes – While rectangle trampolines and round trampolines are the most popular, you may consider an alternative shape based on your particular needs or the amount of space you have available. Keep in mind that our store has cheap trampolines for sale.

Key Decision 3: Trampoline Enclosure

As with any other outdoor recreational equipment, safety should be the first priority when enjoying a standard trampoline. Trampoline enclosures consist of large panels of netting that vertically wrap around the entire trampoline mat to help prevent occupants from bouncing out, getting caught in the springs or falling onto the hard outer rail.
